The Cheviot Hills contain some of the most challenging routes in the UK. Nearby forests such as Harwood provide fast and technical fire track trails you will remember for a very long time. We can also supply safe storage for your bikes.
Birdwatchers and naturalists will also find the accommodation in Northumberland ideally suited to his or her needs. Located in an area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, just sitting in the garden can prove a rewarding experience! However, located nearby is the wildfowl reserve of Caistron, not to mention the spectacular RSPB reserve of the Farne Islands with seabirds and grey seal colonies.
The famous River Coquet runs literally past the front door of the cottages, offering the game fisherman with fantastic challenges at salmon and sea trout in season.
For the golfer, Northumberland is well served with courses, whatever level you play at, including the nearby Rothbury Golf Course.
If you like your food then you'll have plenty to keep you occupied in Northumberland as the county is home to numerous traditional English pubs and excellent restaurants, which are within easy travelling distance of the cottages. In addition, the village of Rothbury offers a comprehensive range of shops and stores.
